Internships, Year in Industry Placements and Apprenticeships

If you are studying at college or university, an internship or placement is the perfect way to gain valuable experience and help you make the right choice when you leave or graduate.

We offer an array of opportunities from summer internships to student ‘year in industry' placements. Our Apprenticeship programmes are also an opportunity for school or college leavers to gain insight into our business whilst obtaining a formal qualification with the guidance of our experienced mentors.

Work Experience placements

For current school students and leavers, we partner with local schools and universities within the UK and The Netherlands. They value not only the power or our solutions, but also our expertise, collaboration and integrity in the work we do and the support we offer to students.

We also work with the Young Professionals (UK and Ireland) who are a leading student network supporting thousands of school students to accelerate their careers in apprenticeships and work experience programs.

Diversity in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

Supporting you through your career

At Malvern Panalytical, we prize everyone’s differences and play to everybody’s strengths, it’s part of our core value ‘Be true’. We are on a journey focussed on supporting and celebrating everyone’s unique perspectives.

Here are a few of our recent events and initiatives to help develop our STEM diversity program, with the help of our colleagues and partner organisations:

June 2022: International Women in Engineering Day

To celebrate International Women in Engineering Day, we joined the Young Professionals multi-employer event where we heard from a number of top engineers from some of the largest engineering companies. We discussed the various pathways into the industry and held a Q&A with Rebecca Levy Spectris Foundation Director and Clare Fenwick-Hyde – Software Discipline Lead who spoke all about their careers at Spectris and Malvern Panalytical. It was an inspiring evening and great to see so many women involved and sharing their stories and advice.

July 2022: Do you want to be an engineer and explore a career in science?

In July 2022, we hosted two events with Young Professionals - one online and one in person work experience events. We were joined by over 500 students online where we explored different routes into engineering careers. They watched a live laboratory tour, saw a hackathon, received tips on how to make a great CV and learnt about software engineering and much more. During our in-person event, 26 students attended at our site in Malvern, UK where they discovered some of our particle measuring products, assembled different parts of the lab instruments, saw live testing and experienced a team engineering task. Both events were a great success and inspired the next generation of engineers - thank you to everyone involved!

July 2022: Women's Engineering Society

Malvern Panalytical are members of the Women’s Engineering Society (WES) and took part in the Lottie Tour. WES Lottie Tour is an annual campaign that takes 'Lottie' to many different locations accompanying lots of different engineering friends who show Lottie the work they do in engineering and related careers. WES Lottie Tour has a number of audiences - its primary aim is for Lottie to inspire and encourage the next generation to think of a career in engineering and STEM subjects.

March 2022: Business days Twente and Recruitment days Eindhoven (wervingsdagen)

Malvern Panalytical held a two-day careers event in Eindhoven for students. We showcased Malvern Panalytical to the next generation of future employees, explaining what we do and what job opportunities we had to offer. Everyone who visited the events was invited to visit our sites in Almelo or Eindhoven. Over a dozen students joined our on-site tour and presentation. This was a great success and resulted in securing a number of internships. Will we see you in 2023 or 2024?
