Ex vivo inflammasome slice assay for neuroinflammation discovery

If you are working in neuroinflammation and neurodegeneration you will know about the importance of understanding the complex signaling between different cell types in a native system. Sometimes studying the biology of your drug candidate in single cell systems just isn’t enough.

Specializing in neuroinflammation, neurodegeneration and remyelination, CLS can provide you with a range of ex vivo slice models. Slice cultures maintain all the relevant cells, structure and organization of the brain in thick sections of tissue that have been cultured ex vivo. The system can be tailored to region- and circuit-specific requirements.

In this short webinar, Dr Elise Malavasi, principal scientist at CLS, will:

  • Introduce the NLRP3 Inflammasome Pathway and its involvement in neurodegenerative diseases
  • Show how NLRP3 inflammasome activation and inhibition can be modelled ex vivo using brain slices
  • Explain how ex vivo slice models are applied to the characterization of drug candidates targeting the inflammasome system

Following Dr Malavasi’s presentation, you will get the chance to put your questions to our her in a live question and answer session.
