This one-day course is suitable for both new and existing users of the Mastersizer 2000. The morning session introduces the basics principles of particle sizing and introduces a range of important concepts such as data interpretation and the use of optical properties. Wet and dry method development is explained as is the use of representative sampling.
The afternoon session is held in our applications laboratories where delegates have the opportunity to see the principles outlined during the morning session applied to real samples. Application specialists are on hand to guide the delegates through the measurement process and advise on any application problems that they may be experiencing

Dr Anne Virden is Product Technical Specialist for Diffraction and Analytical Imaging. Anne joined Malvern in 2007 with a PhD in Physics from the University of York. She has since been supporting Malvern’s Mastersizer and Spraytec customers and has built up wide ranging experience of particle sizing in industries including paints and pigments, pharmaceuticals, mining and minerals, and is a particular expert in the measurement of spray systems.
Anne has also recently taken on responsibility for Malvern’s Analytical Imaging systems.
