Gabor Kiss Ph.D.- Materials Development Engineer - Chromis Technologies
Gabor Kiss is a Materials Development Engineer at Chromis Technologies (formerly Chromis Fiberoptics) in Warren, NJ where he works on processing and applications of proprietary perfluorinated amorphous polymers for optical and other applications. He obtained a PhD in Polymer Science from the University of Massachusetts in 1979 working under the guidance of Prof. Roger Porter, where they discovered novel rheological phenomena in liquid crystal polymer solutions. He spent a post-doc year at the Centre de Recherches sur les Macromolecules in Strasburg, France, then joined Celanese Research Company in Summit NJ, working on thermotropic LCPs for five years. After a brief 32-year detour in the telecom industry with Bellcore/Telcordia/iconectiv working on fiberoptics splicing, connectorization and outside plant issues, and also software development, he has come home to polymers at Chromis.
