Analysis of majors and minors in copper ore samples prepared as fused beads

This data sheet shows that the Epsilon 3X - a high-performance energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometer is capable of analyzing Cu, Zn, Fe, Ni, Co, As, Mo, Al2O3, SiO2, S, K2O, CaO and TiO2 in copper ore samples.

Copper and its alloys are widely used in electrical wires, roofing, plumbing and industrial machinery. Most copper is mined or extracted as copper sulfides from large open pit mines in porphyry copper deposits that contain up to 3.0% copper. These minerals are concentrated from crushed ores the level of up to 35% copper by froth flotation or bioleaching. Accurate elemental analysis of copper ore samples plays a very important role in copper ore mine mapping and processing. XRF analysis provides a useful tool for classifying and controlling the compositions of the copper ore materials.
