Rietveld analysis of electrolytic baths

High-speed XRD systems like CubiX³ Potflux allow the use of standardless methods such as Rietveld quantification. RoboRiet enables the operator to perform such Rietveld quantifications completely automatically and transfers the results to a customer-defined destination (LIMS, paper, table…).

Electrolytic bath (or potflux) analysis with the standard Rietveld method has several advantages: distinction between and determination of the two different Ca-cryolite phases; direct calculation of crucial process parameters like exAlF3 or bath ratio from phase quantification and total calcium data. Results are not influenced by line 

High-speed sample throughput featuring quick turnaround times

Ultra-fast sample loading allows for a higher sample throughput that enables the user to control their processes more effectively. Measurement times below 2 minutes can be easily achieved, depending on the complexity of the bath.

ELBA (Electrolytic Bath Analysis) calibration package

The ELBA (electrolytic bath analysis) calibration package allows the calibration of bath ratios and excess aluminum exAlF3 for new - starting up - plants that do not have their own calibration samples.

High-intensity calcium XRF channel

The software also makes use of a fully integrated high-intensity calcium XRF channel for simultaneous monitoring of elemental Ca concentrations while measuring phase concentrations with diffraction.

Providing the information you need

The CubiX³ Potflux can be used for electrolytic bath analysis of standard baths (optional with Mg or Li addition), Lc analysis (crystallite size) of carbon anodes, the identification of alumina polymorphs and the analysis of bauxites.
