About Mohammed Islam

Mohammed BSc (Hons.) and an MSc, is an Application Development Scientist at Malvern Panalytical. His expertise lies in laser diffraction and the Mastersizer instrumentation. Mohammed uses his previous experience with the Mastersizer and direct customer interactions, to support the integration of the Mastersizer into our customers' workflows. Collaborating closely with Malvern Panalytical's R&D department, he actively contributes to delivering hardware and software solutions aimed at enhancing the experiences of our diverse range of customers.

Career pathway

Mohammed joined Malvern Panalytical in 2021 after serving as a Polymer R&D Chemist for two years. In this role, he focused on developing and synthesizing polymers, additives, and emulsions. 

He previously used the Mastersizer in his formulations and in process/product development. He earned his MSc from Aston University, Birmingham in 2018 under Professor Paul Topham. 

Mohammed's research year concentrated on the synthesis of novel block co-polymers using an innovative polymerization technique.

Mohammed finds purpose in delivering customer-focused solutions at Malvern Panalytical. His commitment is centered on enhancing the overall customer experience through innovative contributions and personalized approaches.
