Characterizing PLA and PLGA? Let OMNISEC help!

Polylactic acid (PLA) and poly(lactic-co-glycolic) acid (PLGA) have become increasingly popular due to their renewable and biodegradable nature.  As a result, these materials have found application in a variety of fields, including additive manufacturing, medical devices, and recyclable materials, among others.  Because of the relatively low dn/dc values exhibited by PLA and PLGA, reliable data has historically been rare. However, the OMNISEC GPC/SEC system, with its increased sensitivity and multi-detector capabilities, has proven to be a valuable tool for researchers and manufacturers thoroughly characterizing these sample types.

At Malvern Panalytical, my colleagues and I have had the opportunity to analyze a range of PLA and PLGA samples in recent years.  As a result, the collection of Application Notes and other documents below highlight how the OMNISEC system can offer insight regarding the molecular properties of your samples.

But first: how to access this content

Malvern Panalytical has a fantastic collection of technical content available through our website’s Knowledge Center. In addition, it’s all free! All you have to do is register with our website (also free!) to gain complete access to this wealth of information.
