Training: Malvern in Collaboration with SDTech

Malvern organizes training in collaboration with the company SDTech Micro and SDTech Nano, its technical partner for 7 years.

SDTech Micro, located in Alès, specializes in the analysis and custom processing of fine and ultrafine powders.

Last week, SDTech organized the technical days with Glatt and Malvern. Theoretical presentations were followed by workshops on a Glatt granulator in “granulation” mode on the first day and then in “coating” mode on the second day.

In parallel, a demonstration of grinding on an air jet mill fully controlled by an online laser granulometer ensuring the regulation of the dynamic separator. A workshop on a cryogenic grinder also allowed over 30 participants to be divided into three subgroups.

For Malvern, it was an opportunity to install a Parsum probe inside the Glatt granulator and ensure that the granulation regime was not impaired by deviations leading to much larger and more irregularly shaped grains.

All products were then analyzed in the laboratory using a Mastersizer 3000 granulometer in dry mode and a Morphologi G3 image analyzer to study the size and friability of the grains obtained by the two regimes.

Objectives : Present size and morphological grain size analysis techniques. Acquire the necessary knowledge to monitor or control a powder production process. Discover the principle of image analysis and the various advantages of this technique. Understand and better solve industrial problems (related to production or development) due to the characterization of powdered materials.

PHARMACEUTICAL PRODUCT MICROMICRONIZATION
Tool and quality

Objectives : Present the different product division technologies: from powders to nano powders. Define application fields depending on the granulometry of raw materials and finished products. Rank production parameters. Define pharmaceutical product constraints. Address solutions to control grinding and micronization operations.

Insitec User Training – Malvern Link II
Process Optimization

Objectives : Present the different possibilities of integrating industrial laser granulometers Insitec – Provide concrete examples on a grinding process in operation – Train in the use of the RTSizer software and the platform for dialogue with automates.
