presentadores
Luciano Gobbo, Ph.D.
Luciano de Andrade Gobbo started his studies of Geosciences at the University of São Paulo, Brazil in 1994. He began his X-ray diffraction studies at the University of Milan, Italy, in 1999 and finalized his studies with a master’s dissertation on Clinker quantification by XRD-Rietveld method in 2002. From 2001-2004 he worked as applied mineralogist in the cement industry using optical microscopy and XRD. In 2004 he started his PhD research on Brazilian cement quantification by Rietveld method at the University of São Paulo; in the same year he joined Panalytical Brazil, São Paulo, as application specialist for X-ray diffraction for Latin America, based in São Paulo, Brazil. In 2009 he finished his PhD and in 2014 he became XRD Building Materials & Minerals specialist for all the Americas, his currently position. He moved to the headquarters of Malvern Panalytical for the Americas in Westborough MA, working on building materials, mining and as the benchtop XRD application specialist.
Tim Glose
Tim Glose has been an application specialist within the Malvern Panalytical x-ray fluorescence (XRF) group for over 20 years and, previously, was both a chemist specializing in x-ray techniques and quality assurance manager in an aerospace materials environment.
Over his time with Malvern Panalytical, he has become highly experienced with the XRF analysis of a wide range of transportation related materials and has suggested and implemented XRF solutions for a wide variety of DOT and manufacturing QA/QC laboratories.
Chantal Audet
With a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chantal Audet graduated in 2004 and started her professional career with Claisse as a technical representative. Over the years, she covered different territories such as South America, Asia and the United States. Over 10 years, she accumulated field experience with sample preparation by giving her a deep understand the customers’ needs and challenges.
Following her roles in sales, she moved to full-time product management for the Claisse product line in 2014. Claisse is now a brand within Malvern Panalytical family, where she has expanded her responsibilities to include calibration standards and elemental sample preparation equipment in general. This global view of the sample preparation product range, coupled with Malvern Panalytical’s expertise in elemental analysis, means she plays a key role in the creation of innovative solutions that meet customer-ever-changing needs.
John Casola
John is the asphalt products manager and rheology technical specialist for Netzsch Instruments and has been involved with instrumentation to characterize material rheology for the past 40 years. Having a strong background in material science, John has helped may companies better understand the products they use, process, and produce by employing specialized characterization methods. Involvement in the asphalt industry began during the Strategic Highway Research Program (SHRP) where, while working closely with the SHRP research team, developed the first asphalt binder specific Dynamic Shear Rheometer for Performance Grading.
He is a founding and active member of the Association of Modified Asphalt Producers (AMAP), as well as an active participant to the Binder Expert Task Group, Emulsion Expert Task Force and ASTM D4.44 on asphalt rheology. He was also a consultant to the NCHRP 9-10 Project on Modified Asphalt Characterization and NCHRP 9-39 for the Determination of Asphalt Mixing & Compaction Temperatures. As an instructor, he has been involved in numerous training programs over the years, all focusing on rheology & material characterization.
Ragy Ragheb, Ph.D.
Ragy Ragheb is a Technical Specialist/Application Scientist with Malvern Panalytical specializing in a number of light-scattering technologies and GPC/SEC product lines. Ragy received his PhD in Macromolecular Science and Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and completed his post-doctoral work in Biomedical Engineering at Yale University. His research focused on the fabrication and characterization of various synthetic and metal-based nanoparticle systems for theranostic and drug delivery applications.
Stephen Williams, Ph.D.
Stephen has been working in with analytical equipment for over thirty years. He joined Philips (now Malvern Panalytical) in 1990 as an XRF applications specialist. Prior to that he worked as an analytical chemist in the mining industry. Stephen has experience in X-ray fluorescence, X-ray diffraction, molecular spectroscopy and sales and marketing. He has worked in all major applications and market segments.
