In a collaborative initiative between Malvern Panalytical and Cenipalma, efforts are underway to develop a diagnostic technology for estimating foliar nitrogen content in mature oil palms, based on near-infrared spectral response data by Spectroradiometry.

This tool could be complementary to laboratory analyses, it seeks to be more efficient in obtaining the diagnostics and response times to support timely decision-making regarding crop management, making it more cost-efficient and sustainable. For this reason, this research project is dedicated to the development of diagnostic technology grounded in spectral response, with a specific focus on precision agriculture geared towards enhancing the productivity of oil palm crops.

Our joint efforts are aimed at providing Colombian oil palm producers with a broader range of digital solutions designed to optimize their production costs.

In this video, we present how it's possible to optimize the use of fertilizers over time, increasing production and operational efficiency. The video addresses the challenges faced in agriculture regarding fertilizer use and production control. To tackle these challenges, a solution involving Nitrogen Mapping powered by Artificial Intelligence is introduced. With this solution, real-time results can be obtained without the need to collect samples, potentially avoiding damage to or destruction of plants.
