The 11th Ore and Mineral Analysis (OMA) User Day: A Huge Success!
Addressing challenges in mining laboratories
Malvern Panalytical’s expertise center in sample preparation in Québec City held the 11th OMA user day on November 7. The main theme of the event was: Addressing challenges in mining laboratories.
What happened?
Twenty-four people coming from 17 organizations from all around Quebec’s province assisted in various educational presentations on technologies such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray fluorescence (XRF), laser diffraction, near-infrared spectroscopy (NIR) and sample preparation. Half of the presentations were given by Malvern Panalytical experts. The other half was given by relevant guest speakers coming from universities or various famous organizations such as SGS.
Attendees were happy with the user day, and they shared positive comments with the organizers. “The part on XRD was very useful to me“, said an attendee at the end of the day. Another participant mentioned that “the presentations given by Malvern Panalytical scientists were very interesting“.
Seven instruments representing all brands of Malvern Panalytical were exhibited during the event. It was the perfect occasion for attendees to ask questions and share their realities in the laboratory.
A word about the OMA
The OMA is a series of events held worldwide that aims to present Malvern Panalytical as a solution provider for mining companies. User days are great occasions to learn and build networks with other players in the mining industry. Mining companies/research facilities, universities with focus on mining, service laboratories and environmental institutions are the main target audience.
