How our users inspired the FORJ design

We’ve all taken a customer survey or written a review, but have you ever wondered if anyone is reading? Well, here’s our answer: that’s how we designed our FORJ fusion instrument for sample preparation! We paid close attention to our customers’ feedback, and it couldn’t have been more valuable.

Our users tell us that they need efficiency in the lab to keep their overall analytical chain moving – so we listened. But we also know it goes deeper than that. Great design includes elements a user might not even have thought of, so we found a couple of ways to maximize the “Oh, that’s useful!” factor in the FORJ experience.

Your supercapacitor insurance policy

In the middle of a vital process, a power hiccup can be more than an inconvenience. If your fusion cycle is interrupted, it can escalate costs, damage the instrument, and even risk operator safety. That’s why we equipped FORJ with an internal supercapacitor. This ensures that short electrical shortages – up to about 30 seconds – don’t interrupt the cycle. Heating and agitation in the furnace will pause, but this won’t affect the fusion process.

If a power shortage occurs when the furnace door is open, the supercapacitor swings into action to close the door – limiting heat transfer, avoiding instrument damage and securing the safety of the operator. This prevents cycle abortion, and prioritizes safety both for you and for FORJ!

No sample left behind

Seamlessly tracking samples throughout the analytical chain is important, especially in busy laboratory environments. That’s why we offer the sample monitoring system as an optional add-on that integrates seamlessly with FORJ. With easy connection to LIMS or networks via FTP, sample tracking and remote control capabilities are streamlined right into your workflow.

This helps to avoid the pitfall of sample misidentification or inversion, a common error that can disrupt your processes and result in a significant efficiency loss. The system also simplifies troubleshooting by marking individual samples as succeeded or failed, registering the reasons behind any failures to facilitate quick diagnostics.

A better analytical future with FORJ

These are just two examples of how we created our vision of the world’s fastest, safest, and most accurate fusion instrument for sample preparation. And our customers helped! By sharing their feedback, they helped us to design a more streamlined, efficient, and hassle-free sample preparation experience – and we’re not stopping there.
