Analysis of metals in pharmaceuticals with Epsilon 3XLE

Epsilon 3XLE is capable of determining metal concentrations in pharmaceutical materials, with minimal sample preparation. The repeatability results of this study illustrate the stability and robustness of the Epsilon 3XLE.

The calculated detection limits (LLD) and analysis accuracy (RMS) clearly demonstrate that the Epsilon 3XLE can reliably measure most elements of concern at the 1 to 3 μg/g (ppm) level. The performance demonstrated in this work can be reproduced with either the Rh or Ag X-ray tube configurations. Furthermore, the compact size and low weight of the spectrometer make it an ideal tool for the pharmaceutical industry. Examples of use include residual catalysts investigations in API’s, raw material screening and regulatory reporting of finished products.
