The ASD LabSpec 4 Hi-Res analytical spectrometer is designed for analysis of materials that are characterized by sharp spectral features that may require more resolute spectral data for accurate detection and identification.
The LabSpec 4 is optimized for rapid analysis and is ideal for fast-moving laboratory environments, providing instant results with no sample preparation.
Best for: users requiring maximum sensitivity, ideal for outdoor and remote sensing applications.
Cost-effective alternative: provides a lower-cost solution for those not requiring FieldSpec’s high-end performance.
Artificial light advantage: a lower signal-to-noise ratio can be compensated for with powerful artificial light sources.
User-replaceable fibre optic cable: features SMA 905 connector for easy cable replacement and flexible light source options.
The 3 nm VNIR, 6 nm SWIR spectral resolution of the LabSpec 4 Hi-Res provides superior performance across the 350-2500 nm spectral range. The enhanced spectral resolution in the SWIR range (1001-2500 nm) is particularly useful for detecting and identifying compounds with narrow spectral features in these longer wavelengths such as soil, mineralogy, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, plastics and petrochemicals.
Spectral data with 6 nm SWIR resolution provides a strong foundation for building accurate chemometric calibration models for quantitative and qualitative materials analysis. The spectrometer configuration delivers superior signal throughput and is compatible with all ASD bifurcated probes and lighted accessories.
Optional integrated fiber optic light source
The ASD LabSpec 4 Hi-Res i model includes an internal broad-spectrum halogen light source that eliminates the need for an external fibre optic light source, which is required for bifurcated probes and some accessories.
Pre-dispersive systems: Disperse light before reaching the sample, relying on an internal light source.
Post-dispersive systems: Disperse light after reflection, allowing external light sources like the sun to be used.
The post-dispersive system technology used in ASD instruments offers superior analysis capabilities:
ASD systems are used to determine plant physiological status, including disease status, nutritional status related to nitrogen uptake and moisture balance.
In recent years, the forest products industry has issued an increasing call for process measurement innovation to reduce cost and increase profitability. ASD has answered.
ASD has a truly mobile pharmaceutical anti-counterfeit solution to help combat this problem with the LabSpec NIR spectrometer.
Cost-effective rapid, real-time determination of the constituents and purity of raw materials for a multitude of industries.
For cost-effective and rapid, non-destructive, in-situ moisture concentration analysis in a wide range of materials and concentrations.
Qualification and quantification of raw material prior to introduction into a production process and analysis of in-process materials and finished products in the industrial plastics industry.
Rapid in-situ analysis of the purity and chemical composition present in raw materials, in-process materials, and finished product for the cosmetics and beauty products industry, including evaluation of color value for hair dye.
From characterization of oil content of soybeans and other crops, to quantification of key parameter levels in biofuel processing and quality analysis of final product, near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy is the ideal measurement tool.
