How can we inspire the next generation of women?

As a mother of two daughters, I believe it's crucial to show young girls that they can pursue any career path they choose. To inspire the next generation, we need strong role models who show that success comes from passion, hard work, and perseverance, not gender. Encouraging young girls to explore STEM and leadership roles is important. We must create environments where women feel supported, whether through mentorship programs, equal opportunities, or simply by sharing our own journeys to create success. Accelerating action toward equality requires both individual and collective efforts. Companies must actively champion diversity and promote inclusive workplaces. As individuals, we must uplift and empower one another.

Rachele Klein, Director of Global Service, Micromeritics

What's been your greatest achievement during your career?

The privilege of leading the service team and Micromeritics. We have an incredible culture in the team; one that is supportive, authentic, and positive. It takes all of us to propagate this through our daily actions. We couldn't be more different from each other, but what unifies us is the love of figuring things out and helping others.

Our hiring process and approach to recruitment

At Malvern Panalytical, Micromeritics, and SciAps, we follow a structured and transparent hiring process to ensure the best experience for our candidates.

Below is an overview of our typical hiring process, along with some useful tips to help you succeed in your application and interviews.

Our typical hiring process

Initial screening call (30 minutes)

Your journey begins with a 30-minute conversation with a member of our Talent Acquisition team. This is an opportunity for us to learn more about your background, experience, and motivations while giving you a chance to ask questions about the role and company.

💡Tip: Be prepared to give a brief overview of your experience, career goals, and what interests you about our company and our values. Research our organization and our values to be ready to discuss how your skills and experience align with the role.

First interview – virtual (45-60 minutes)

If successful, you’ll be invited to a 45–60-minute interview via Microsoft Teams with the hiring team. This stage focuses on assessing your skills, experience, and alignment with the role, as well as providing deeper insights into the team and company culture.

💡Tip: Use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) when answering example-based questions. This helps structure your responses and ensures you provide clear examples.

Final stage interview – onsite/Microsoft Teams

The final stage involves either an onsite interview at one of our facilities, where you will meet the hiring team in person, or a final stage video call. This session may include:

  • A presentation task, where you showcase your expertise on a relevant topic. A full brief will be provided in advance, so you know what to prepare.
  • A site tour to give you a first-hand look at our work environment and facilities.

💡Tip: If you're required to give a presentation, keep it clear and concise. Stick to the time limit and leave room for questions and answers at the end to engage with the panel. Make sure to practice beforehand and consider potential questions the panel may ask.

Resume and interview tips

  • Tailor your application: Highlight relevant skills and experience that match the job description. Use clear formatting and concise bullet points to make it easy to read.
  • Showcase your achievements: Rather than listing responsibilities, focus on specific accomplishments and measurable results from previous roles.
  • Research the company: Understanding our products, values, and industry will help you stand out in the interview. Explore our website and recent news to gain insights.
  • Practice common interview questions: Use the STAR method: Prepare to answer questions using "Situation, Task, Action, Result". Research our products, values, and industry to give strong, relevant examples.
  • Ask thoughtful questions: Show your enthusiasm by asking about the team, projects, and company culture. This demonstrates your genuine interest in the role.

We look forward to meeting you and exploring how you can contribute to our team!
