Helpful resources for OMNISEC
It happens to all of us. You’re working in the lab when suddenly you have a question or need help with an instrument or your data. What you want is an answer that addresses your specific question, preferably with video or pictures, and is easy to locate. For many people nowadays, the first thing to try is a quick query in your favorite internet search engine.
Over the years, my colleagues and I have made an effort to create OMNISEC-related content that will appear in those search results and provide the answers you are seeking. But even the most powerful search engines can miss things if the appropriate keywords are missing. In this post, I’m sharing the different types of helpful resources we have for OMNISEC, including links to make it as easy as possible for you to find the information you need.
YouTube
Located on Malvern Panalytical’s YouTube channel is our GPC/SEC Expert Advice playlist. It is accessible by clicking the Playlists tab (1) and then selecting the GPC/SEC Expert Advice playlist (2).

The GPC/SEC Expert Advice playlist includes general information on GPC/SEC as a technique, overview of the OMNISEC system, software tutorials, lab procedurals, and troubleshooting advice.
Malvern Panalytical Knowledge Center
The Malvern Panalytical Knowledge Center is a collection of thousands of documents of various formats, all with the intention of sharing helpful knowledge. I recommend using the search bar to highlight content related to OMNISEC (1).

Once you’ve narrowed the list, then you can choose which document type(s) you’d prefer (2). You can choose more than one type, so make sure you scroll down to see all that are available. The Insights include blogs (like this one), which are near and dear to my heart, so I recommend including those in your searches.

If you want to peruse the collection of blogs (i.e. Insights) I’ve authored over the years, you can simply scan through the posts included in this link. The vast majority address OMNISEC-related FAQs.
The Knowledge Base / Customer Portal
If you haven’t registered with the Malvern Panalytical Customer Portal, what are you waiting for? In addition to allowing you to create and monitor support tickets and engage in live chat for instant feedback, the Customer Portal offers you access to a wide range of support resources.
Within the Customer Portal is the Knowledge Base, a library of support articles available to make it easier for you to use your instruments and help yourself if you have any questions. Make sure to register, because some of this content is only available to registered users.

The OMNISEC software
If you’re not aware, the OMNISEC Basic Guide and User Manual documents are available in the Documentation section of the Start Page. Even more powerful, the Interactive Help option under the Documentation section of the Start Page offers an easily searchable collection of topics (same content as the Basic Guide and User Manual, but more interactive and searchable). Simply click Interactive Help (1) and type your topic of choice in the search bar (2) to access the relevant content, as shown below. The YouTube playlist described above is also accessible from the Start tab under the Bookmarks section.

Tech Support Team
Of course, if you’d prefer to communicate directly with someone, please use our Contact Us web page to find the appropriate phone number for your region and instrument.
Final thoughts
In conclusion, Malvern Panalytical makes a considerable effort to make OMNISEC easier for you to use. In addition to the resources described above, you can always purchase remote or on-site training.
