Looking for an easy and economical method for compliant analysis of sulfur in fuels? 

Epsilon 1 is the ideal analytical solution. The system is pre-calibrated in the factory and is an out-of-the-box solution with guaranteed performance in compliance with ASTM D4294, ISO 20847, ISO 8754, IP496, IP336 and JIS K2541-4. 

These methods describe the testing for sulfur in petroleum and petroleum products like fuels by XRF.

Features

  • Maximum sensitivity: The thin window Ag anode X-ray tube, designed and manufactured by Malvern Panalytical, ensures high quality and sensitivity. The 50 kV X-ray tube and generator is ideal for exciting heavier elements, resulting in faster analysis times and higher accuracy.

  • Self-contained system: A built-in computer running Microsoft Windows 7 with powerful CPU and 120 GB hard drive ensures flexibility to store and handle thousands of results. The high-resolution, 10.4” LCD touch screen is ideal for easy walk-up operation.

  • Easy communication: USB and network connections for standard computer peripherals support extended use, application development, and seated operator.

  • Spillage protection: a spillage protection foil is in place to shield the delicate heart of the system. In case of spillage, the foil can be replaced easily by the operator.

Epsilon 1 is pre-calibrated for sulfur analysis in compliance with the latest international test methods: ASTM D4294, ISO 20847 ISO 8754, IP496, IP336 and JIS K2541-4.

The results of the repeatability test for sulfur are well within the limits set by ASTM D4294, being the most stringent method.

Epsilon 1 Ultra-Low Sulfur (ULS) is a star-performing benchtop XRF instrument for the analysis of sulfur starting at 5 ppm sulfur in fuels. 

Pre-calibrated in the factory, Epsilon 1 ULS is our out-of-the-box solution for analyzing ultra-low sulfur in automotive fuels in compliance with many relevant test methods, including ISO 13032, TIER 3, and ASTM 4294. Optionally, the instrument also comes pre-calibrated for trace analysis of chlorine in crude oils.  

Epsilon 1 gives you precise and accurate data with minimal sample preparation and no need for using helium - this keeps the total running cost to a minimum.
